Common UK ETA Application Mistakes

Passport details that do not match

Enter your passport number, name and dates exactly as printed on the identity page. Even small differences between your application and your passport can cause problems, because the ETA is electronically linked to that specific passport.

Poor quality uploads

Blurry passport scans, glare over the photo area, cropped document edges and dark applicant photos are among the most common quality issues. Use good light, a plain background and check the preview before continuing.

Applying with the wrong passport

If you hold multiple nationalities, apply with the passport you intend to travel with. If you later replace that passport, you may need a new ETA.
